Concept
This series delves into the lingering presence of unsent messages. Using cyanotype and a typewriter, I transformed anonymous submissions into these visual traces, each work representing a message.
The use of layering, accumulation, the palimpsest, touches a bit into the idea of how now adays if a message is written is usually done on a screen, usually a phone. There a message can be changed and altered as many times as its needed, but that same principle of erasing, rewriting, erasing, rewriting was to happen in an analog format, the overlaying of the words become blurry, their trace remains but they are unreadable.
With over 40 contributions, the project will ultimately take shape as a self-published zine.
